We are pleased to add to our learning opportunities following the conference.

Please see the information below for more details.

Wednesday October 10

Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford
0800 – 1200; Palo Alto, CA

The team at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital welcomes conference attendees to visit the newly opened hospital and learn about its lean journey. The visit will be organized in two streams and we will do our best to give participants their preferred choice. The first stream will focus on alignment and the goal deployment journey of Stanford Children’s Health. Leaders will show participants the history and process of development and deployment of goals, as well as visit acute care units to see how frontline employees interact with and support the organizational goals. The second stream will focus on developing local problem solving capabilities through the use of a daily management system. Participants on this tour will visit the Outpatient Heart Center and the Pediatric ICU where they will learn about the use of Everyday Improvement Ideas to solve small problems and the use of A3s and Local Improvement Teams to solve medium-sized problems.

Cost: $350.00

Applying Lean to a Major Hospital Construction Project
1300 – 1500; Palo Alto, CA

Managing the construction of the new 824,000 square foot Stanford Hospital is no easy feat. For Senior Project Manager Cliff Moser, applying lean tools to this project has brought his team greater transparency and engagement in the daily planning process. By implementing the Last Planner System, Moser and his team have reduced waste, increased efficiency and empowered teams to adhere to their project timelines. To learn more about the success of this project, please join Moser and his team for a visit to the construction site on October 10th. At the site visit participants will tour the Stanford Hospital construction site and see firsthand how lean tools, like the Last Planner System, have greatly contributed to the success of this project.
